Article II. Mission and Non-Discrimination Statement COVD at Chicago College of Optometry shall provide an open, fun, and educational environment for optometry students to participate in activities related to vision therapy, sports vision training, neuro-optometric rehabilitation, and developmental optometry. The organization shall strive to provide educational, philanthropic, networking, and social opportunities for students at Chicago College of Optometry. In addition, COVD will allow students to work with other university members, outside optometric physicians, and the community at large. Our vision, which remains the same as that of the national organization, is “to drive progress through clinical excellence and research in developmental vision care, optometric vision therapy, and rehabilitation. This will result in wider adoption of optometric vision therapy and increased recognition of its integral role in enhancing learning, productivity, and overall quality of life.” Membership in COVD shall be without regard to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, marital status, veteran status, political belief or affiliation, or membership or non-membership in any organization.
