About Us
The student society adopts the mission of the national society: “To promote the art, science, and research of vision care by supporting research and educational programs.” In addition, the student society will: 1. Make sure students are dedicated to the highest standards of optometric practice through clinical care, education, and/or research 2. Provide information to students about new clinical care practices and research developments 3. Encourage membership and participation in the national society of AAO as a student and upon graduation 4. Encourage development of all optometry students into knowledgeable and competent health care professionals by: 1. Providing leadership capabilities by holding elected offices and being appointed to committees 2. Continually encouraging the development of new ideas that will enhance the student’s individual education 2. Foster fellowship and good will among optometry students, educators, practitioners and those served by the optometry profession
