Next, AHA Community Coordinator Edna Wu gathered members for a quick workshop to teach students on how to operate an ultrasound for screening osteoporosis. This teaching workshop aimed to provide a basic introduction in providing screening for our MAHA community clinic in Chicago's Chinatown. Students were then able to apply what they learned at last Saturday's volunteer clinic on January 31st! Older Asian adults, especially postmenopausal Asian women, are at increased risk of osteoporosis. Providing screening and basic lifestyle modification recommendations helps improve outcomes for our community, so amazing job AHA members!
